ACCOUNT OFFICER
Job Summary:
As an Account Officer, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts and ensuring proper financial reporting in line with company policies. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support the company’s financial operations within the travel and tourism sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions including client payments, vendor invoices, and staff reimbursements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and accounting records.
- Reconcile bank statements, company accounts, and client balances regularly.
- Track receivables and follow up on outstanding payments from clients and vendors.
- Process payments to airlines, embassies, and other service providers.
- Monitor and report on cash flow, daily sales, and expenditure.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Ensure all transactions comply with accounting principles and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Visa, Flight, Vacation, HR) to ensure accurate financial data.
- Handle petty cash and maintain proper documentation of disbursements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Provide timely reports to management on financial performance and variances.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a travel agency or service-oriented company.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and high ethical standards.
Salary: N150,000
